Immigration Minister Of Canada Says “Come To Canada” After US Immigration Ban

Come to Canada is what the Immigration Minister of Canada said after President Donald Trump announced visa suspensions for the rest of 2020.

Earlier this week, President Donald Trump signed a new Executive Order that will prevent new green card holders and temporary foreign workers from coming to the United States of America in 2020.

Donald Trump signed the order due to the belief that citizens of the United States of America that lost their jobs during this pandemic could find employment.

Minister Mendicino said that Canada is still committed to welcome international students, permanent residents, and temporary workers despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

In a bid to strengthen the weakened economy of Canada, which was a result of the pandemic, Minister Mendicino said that The government of Canada will be welcoming immigrants to boost the economy.

During an interview on TV, Minister Mendicino was asked about his thoughts on the immigration suspension of The United States of America.

He said that immigration will spring the economic recovery of Canada, adding:

We have a plan in place that looks to leverage the best and the brightest from around the world.

We’ve got pathways like the Express Entry program, and the Global Talent Stream, which will help to bring entrepreneurs, engineers, and innovators. We’ve also got pathways for manual labourers and skilled labourers.

Before the pandemic, Canada was seeking to welcome around 341,000 new permanent residents in 2020.
