The government of Canada has announced that they will be delaying the opening of their 2020 Parents and Grandparents Visa Program due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Due to the high numbers of the coronavirus patients in the country, the government of Canada has announced that they will be placing a temporary halt for the program. According to IRCC (Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada), the launch of the call for expressions of interest to apply for the program was anticipated in the coming weeks. The temporary deferral of the call for applications is not expected to impact when parents and grandparents will arrive in the country. Coronavirus Canada: Students Of York University Residence Told To Go Into Self-Isolation

All students that are living in a residential building at the York University have been advised to go into self-isolation after an individual began exhibiting some symptoms that are similar to those that infected people with Coronavirus have. The notice was posted on the website of the University on Wednesday regarding Founders Residence. The university, however, said that individual exhibiting symptoms does not have either presumptive or confirmed case of the coronavirus, which is also known as the COVID-19. The notice said: “York has carefully planned for this scenario and us immediately notified Toronto Public Health to ensure the person is receiving the appropriate care and that proper precautions are being taken to minimize the risk of transmission, including contacting anyone else they believe may be at risk.” The notice added, “Students and employees sharing space with this individual have been provided additional communication on this matter.” The notice continu

Donald Trump, the President of the United States, confirmed the news through a tweet. The move represents the response of the 2 countries, as the world is trying to do it's best to stay away from the virus.
