Canada Offers Flexibility To Temporary Residents That Want To Extend Their Stay In The Country

Canada is currently offering flexibility to its temporary resident's visa holders who are wanting to extend their stay in the country.

Because of the challenges that are brought by the pandemic, the IRRC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada) has announced a new policy that provides such individuals with more time to apply for a restoration of status.

Up until this new announcement, temporary residents had 90 days to submit a restoration of status application.

Temporary residents have until December 31, 2020, to apply to restore their status.
The new policy applies to former work permit, study permit, and TRV (Temporary Resident Visa) holders that are in Canada.

Not only that, but the new policy also works for people that are in Canada and those whose status expired after January 30, 2020.
