Canada-US Border To Remain Closed Until September 21
In a continuous effort to stop the further
spread of the coronavirus, Canada has announced that they will be keeping the
border with the United States of America closed for one more month.
Bill Blair, the Minister of Public Safety,
announced that the border with Canada will remain closed to non-essential
travel last week.
The closure is being extended from August
21 to September 21, 2020.
This is the fight extension to the travel
ban between the 2 countries, which are located just by each other.
In July this year, Canada also imposed
stricter rules for travellers from the USA that are transiting through the country
to reach Alaska and the other contiguous states.
Travellers from the US are now only allowed
to come to Canada for an essential reason.
Travel for tourism, recreation, or
entertainment is still prohibited, said the travel restrictions imposed by
Canada.
Travel restrictions are reviewed every 30
days.
The updated travel restrictions between
Canada and the USA will be available next month and the order on foreign
travellers outside of the USA should be available before the end of this month.
