Express Entry: Canada Sends Out 3,300 Invitations TO CEC Candidates

On August 20, 2020, Canada held an Express Entry round of invitations, where 3,330 invitations were sent out to CEC candidates.

The latest Express Entry draw was the second one in 2 days and the 161st overall.

It was carried out by the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada.

Invitations were issued to a total of 3,300 Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

A CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score of 454 was enough to secure an ITA (Invitation to Apply).

On July 23, 2020, the cut-off score was 445.

The increase in points was seen because there were many more candidates that had joined the pool over the past month.

IRCC has held these program-specific draws since the coronavirus pandemic, after the border of Canada was ordered to shut down in March.

What Is Express Entry?

The Express Entry is a system that the Federal Government uses to manage applications of the 3 main economic class programs in Canada.

The 3 main economic-class programs are:

1.       Federal Skilled Worker Program

2.       Federal Skilled Trades Program

3.       Canadian Experience Class

Some provinces in Canada have provincial programs that are specifically aligned with the Express Entry System.
