Canada Wants To Bring Over 1.2 Million Immigrants To Their Country in The Next 3 Years

Canada is widening its arms more when it comes to accepting people of all colors and religions from all over the world.

In the most recent announcement that was made, it was announced that the country wants to bring over 1.2 million immigrations to their country in the span of 3 years.

The federal immigration minister said that Canada wants to bring more than 1.2 million new immigrants.

This was announced as Canada tries to fill gaps in their labor market and boos their economy.

These 2 sectors were the most hit by the coronavirus pandemic.

During a press release, which was carried out by Immigration Minister Marco Mendicino, it was said that Canada wants to accept 401,000 new permanent residents in 2021.

411,000 will be accepted in 2022 and 421,000 will be accepted in 2023.

It was said during the release that Canada wants more and needs workers.

The best way to do this is through immigration.

Minister Mendicino added:

Before the pandemic, our government’s goal to drive the economy forward through immigration was ambitious. Now it’s simply vital.

Canada closed its borders to immigrants in March this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

In the month of August, the country welcomed 128,425 newcomers to the country, however, that is less than the half of 341,000-person target it had set for 2020.
