British Columbia Invites More Than 400 Workers, Graduates and Entrepreneurs

Multiple draws that were held on October 12, 2021, by British Columbia invited over 400 immigration candidates through four Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws.

In total, British Columbia has issued nearly 10,000 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination in the year 2021.

According to a report by CICNews, candidates from the Skills Immigration (SI) and Express Entry BC (EEBC) streams of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) received invitations.

The invitations were issued to those that were from the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, Entry Level, and Semi-Skilled sub-categories of the SI and EEBC streams.

The minimum scores for this draw ranged anywhere between 69 and 91 points.

A total of 308 candidates were invited.

Since February this year, British Columbia has been conducting a separate round of invitations twice a month as part of its PNP program.

These draws are going to be held due to the high number of candidates from particular labor markets who registered with the province’s Skills Immigration Registration (SIRS).

The separate draw was carried out under the SI and EEBC categories and targeted candidates whose occupation falls under NOC 0621 (retail and wholesale trade managers) or NOC 0631 (restaurant and foodservice managers).

The draw above resulted in 101 invitations with a score requirement of 104.

For the first time since August, British Columbia sent out invitations to Entrepreneur Immigration (EI) candidates.

In this draw, a total of 10 invitations were sent to those in the El-base category and less than 5 in the El-regional pilot category.

Also, the province has made it clear that the intake of applications in the EI-base category has been temporarily suspended.

The El-base category is currently under review and has plans to announce details of its reopening in early 2022.
