Canada Invites 761 PNP Candidates in Latest Express Entry Draw

On September 29, 2021, Canada sent out around 761 invitations to Express Entry candidates so they could apply for permanent residence status.

All the candidates that were invited had previously received nominations under a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

The nomination automatically means that 600 points are going to be added to their Express Entry score. This means that candidates needed a score of at least 742 in order to be invited.

Before this PNP draw, the IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada) invited 521 PNP candidates with scores of at least 732.

The new draw is larger but also has a higher cutoff score, meaning that there are more high-scoring candidates in the pool under the Provincial Nominee Class.

The IRCC invited more Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residency this year than ever before, said a report by CICNews.

The report said that the IRCC issued 107,350 ITA (Invitations to Apply) in the year 2020 through the Express Entry System. But this year, the numbers are higher than that.

Canada has issued more than 108,000 invitations and there are three months left to go in the year.
