Canada Lands More Than 361,000 Immigrants This Year And Will Achieve Target Of 401,000

Canada has officially landed more than 361,000 immigrants as of this year and is likely to achieve the target of 401,000 for this year.

According to a report by CIC News, Canada landed over 47,000 new permanent residents, who hired a Canada Immigration Services, in November 2021.

In the report, they said that Canada landed more than 361,000 immigrants in the first 11 months of 2021.

The report also showed that the country has landed more than 45,000 immigrants in each of the last 3 months, which means that it is highly likely that Canada will be achieving their aim of 401,000 this year.

How are the numbers counted?

According to the report, Canada counts when an individual sees their legal status official converted to permanent resident.

Before the Coronavirus pandemic, Canada only landed around 25,000 and 35,000 immigrants per month. Most of the time, the numbers were higher during the summer and spring seasons and lowest during the winter.

This year, Canada started slow, particularly because of the coronavirus pandemic and strict lockdown measures, particularly from countries like India, which in March of this year registered around 450,000 COVID cases per day.

In the year 2019, Canada landed around 340,000 immigrants, and wanted the same target for 2020, but because of the pandemic, the country only landed 184,000 permanent residents.

The  goal for this year is mainly to cover the loss that happened last year.

Achieving the goal has been one of the top priorities of IRCC for this year and it looks like they will do it!
