Prince Edward Island Issues 305 Invitations To Express Entry, Holds Largest PNP Draw Ever

  PEI, which is also known as Prince Edward Island, has issued 305 invitations to Express Entry, Labour Impact, and Business Impact immigration candidates. Prince Edward Island released details of their 2 PNP (Provincial Nominee Program) draws in August. It was reported by Prince Edward Island that one of them was the biggest draw the program has ever seen. On August 11, Prince Edward Island issued only 8 invitations to Express Entry and Labour Impact Candidates. But on August 20, 2020, the PEI PNP (Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program) sent out 305 invitations. 28 of them went to the Business Impact Candidates. 277 of them went to the Express Entry and Labour Impact candidates. Canada-US Border To Remain Closed Until September 21

  In a continuous effort to stop the further spread of the coronavirus, Canada has announced that they will be keeping the border with the United States of America closed for one more month. Bill Blair, the Minister of Public Safety, announced that the border with Canada will remain closed to non-essential travel last week. The closure is being extended from August 21 to September 21, 2020. This is the fight extension to the travel ban between the 2 countries, which are located just by each other. In July this year, Canada also imposed stricter rules for travellers from the USA that are transiting through the country to reach Alaska and the other contiguous states. Travellers from the US are now only allowed to come to Canada for an essential reason. In the month of June this year, Canada welcomed 19,200 new permanent residents. The data was released by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The June permanent resident intake was much stronger than the 11,000 newcomers that Canada saw in the month of May. Out of the 11,000 immigrants that Canada welcomed in the month of May, only 4,000 gained PR.   British Columbia has issued 437 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination for Permanent Residence to candidates of the Skills Immigration and Express Entry on August 7, 2020. According to data that was shared with the public, a total of 437 invitations were issued in the Skilled Worker, International Graduate, and Entry Level and Semi-Skilled Worker categories of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP). The minimum scores for this draw varied depending on the subcategory. The invitations were sent to applicants with 76 to 98 points. Passport Services Have Resumed Again In Canada

  Canadians that have an immediate need for a passport can once again apply by mail. In a new release, it was said that Canadians that are to travel in less than 30 days or are in need of passports in an emergency, they can now apply for an in-person appointment. In case a resident does not have travel plans but wants to get a passport, the government of Canada said that they are recommending for those people to wait. The government expects a delay in processing times due to high demands for passports and to implement safety measures that protect the staff and the residents of the country itself.
