Nova Scotia PNP Sends Out Invitations To Automotive Industry Workers

  Automotive industry workers will be getting invitations from Nova Scotia’s PNP. Workers with profiles in the Express Entry system were invited to apply for a provincial nomination from Nova Scotia. Nova Scotia invited immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination on September 24, 2020. The Nova Scotia Nominee Program released the draw’s eligibility criteria for Express Entry candidates. However, the province did not say how many invitations were sent on September 24, 2020. Candidates needed to have a primary occupation in one of the following 2 National Occupational Classification codes: Motor vehicle body repairs (NOC 7322) or automotive service technicians, truck and bus mechanics and mechanical repairers (NOC 7321). Candidates that were invited will be demonstrating that they have 2 or more years or full-time or part-time experience in these occupations within the 5 years preceding the application. British Columbia Issues 407 invitations In New PNP Draw

  The province of British Columbia has sent out 407 invitations through a provincial nominee draw. The latest draw was held on September 15, 2020. The new invitations that were sent went to candidates that were taking part in the Skills Immigration (SI) and Express Entry BC (EEBC) streams. They were in the Skilled Worker, International Graduate and Entry Level and Semi-Skilled categories. The minimum scores for this draw ranged between 75 and 95 points, said the new data. The EEBC category is for candidates with a valid profile in the federal government’s Express Entry system, which is the main pathway of Canada to bring in skilled immigrants and also help them get Canadian permanent residents. The Skills Immigration category is for skilled and semi-skilled workers whose occupations are in high demand in the British Columbia province.   The US-Canada border will stay closed until October 21, 2020. Canada announced that its southern border will remain closed at least until October 21, 2020. The news was announced as an effort to stop the spread of the coronavirus in the country. Bill Blair, the Minister of Public Safety, tweeted that the border between the 2 countries will remain closed for non-essential travel. Truckers are allowed to enter and come out of the 2 countries. Citizens of the United States of America are allowed to travel to Canada only for essential reasons. Canadian citizens and permanent residents in the United States of America, and their immediate family members are allowed to cross the border. Express Entry: Canada Sends Out 3,300 Invitations TO CEC Candidates

  On August 20, 2020, Canada held an Express Entry round of invitations, where 3,330 invitations were sent out to CEC candidates.   The latest Express Entry draw was the second one in 2 days and the 161st overall. It was carried out by the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada. Invitations were issued to a total of 3,300 Canadian Experience Class (CEC). A CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score of 454 was enough to secure an ITA (Invitation to Apply). On July 23, 2020, the cut-off score was 445. The increase in points was seen because there were many more candidates that had joined the pool over the past month.     International visitors that are currently in Canada with a job offer are now allowed to apply for a work permit without having to leave the country. The new immigration policy will go into effect right away. The news was announced by a media release that was being carried out by the IRCC (Immigration Refugees, and Citizenship Canada). The new policy will benefit temporary residents that are already in Canada with a job offer. However, it does not apply anyone arriving in Canada as a visitor after August 24, 2020. Visitors that meet the eligibility criteria are able to apply to the new temporary immigration policy. British Columbia Sends Out 67 Invitations To Immigration Candidates In Tech Pilot Draw

On September 8, 2020, British Columbia sent out 67 Express Entry and Skills Immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residence through their Tech Pilot draw. The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program Tech Pilot is a fast-track immigration pathway. This one is for in-demand tech workers and international students that are in the tech market. All Tech Pilot candidates invited by the BC PNP is required to have a job offer that is at least 1 year in duration. It should also be listed in one of the 29 in-demand occupations of the pilot.  Canada has announced that they will be extending travel restrictions on incoming foreign travellers for one more month because the coronavirus pandemic is getting worse and worse day by day. Travel restrictions are now being extended until September 30, 2020. This is the third time Canada has extended the travel restrictions of the country. It was originally announced that the travel restrictions were only in place from March 18 to June 30 this year. But because of the worsening situation of the pandemic, the government of Canada has been increasing the restrictions.
